The year 2013 has been the year of change! Many important events have taken place reshaping my way of living and my approach to Life. Change brings novelty. It's a deviation from habits and rules we are acquainted to, so, to some extent, change means "innovation" to me. I had the chance to be in a trip to the United States for several weeks targeting the study of great masters such as Hopper. After such an experience, walking in the streets of New York was not the same! The quiet Connecticut, Philadelphia, Washington, Chicago were places offering me precious visual material able to feed my creative process. Even Kansas City, in the heart of the Mid-West, was kind to me by giving me access to the stunning work of Frida Kalo and Diego Rivera. I combined this awesome experience with the discovery of contemporary artists in Miami which is an activity I love doing to promote also creations from others. Despite the richness in terms of knowledge that all my frequent travels have been bringing to me, I believe that this last one succeeded in boosting my creativity in an unparalleled way. I carefully observed random people in the metro, supermarkets, fast-foods, streets, offices, parks, museums, public toilets, restaurants, beaches, concert-halls and so on. Their eyes, smiles, noses, ears, feet, bodies, beauty, ugliness, clothes, hair, hands, ties, shoes, teeth, lips...left such a distinctive trace in my mind that the natural and most instinctive response was sketching them and taking notes. Once back I have been working hard on my canvas to output my feelings, my emotions, my thoughts that animate my inner world. I am currently focusing on the preparation of an exhibition in Brussels taking place on the 27th of September where I will display some of these works.
